Ima Blogger!

Hello readers,

Welcome to my blog!  It is about copyright termination of transfers.

What are copyright termination of transfers?  U.S. copyright law allows authors to terminate their transfers executed on or after January 1, 1978 after thirty-five years. The year 2013 will mark the first time that authors can terminate transfers under Section 203.

I will be reporting on policy and legislative developments and cases.  The site will also include fact sheets, war stories, guest columns, and a list of works that may be up for transfer.

It is because of the peculiarities of the recorded-music business that copyright transfer termination has been brought to the fore of public awareness.  For this reason, and because my legal practice is principally in the music business (read more about me here), this blog will focus on copyright termination of transfer as it pertains to recording contracts.

I hope you enjoy my blog!

Love, Adam
